Please refer to the previous post for a summary of the materials presented/discussed in the last class. I invite you to participate in this blog as much as you'd like. As this class is meant to be about creating musical opportunities in a supportive community, I challenge you to leave a comment to set a goal for yourself for the next time you come to class. By establishing this structure, we set up a tangible way of creating accountability for those who wish to do so.
Last class, I distributed parts for the Stravinsky Four Hands piece. Especially from those who did not get to play last class, it would be great to hear some this duet attempted by a few people next month!
With that in mind, some possible goals may include:
1) Preparing to put the duet together with another member in class (you don't have to identify who...but feel free to coordinate with someone in particular if you wish)
2) Performing a piece from memory
3) Having another chance at a piece performed earlier with the object of improving some aspect or aspects (you can also just play it again because you love playing it!)
4) Bringing up a certain music/composer related topic for discussion.
